Back to School Classroom Crafts 2023
The school year has officially begun and the crafts will follow! Allow students to creatively express themselves in their art projects and in class. Visual and hands-on activities help enforce learning materials and memorization. Try these classroom crafts and projects with your students!

Colorful Collage
Materials Needed: white paper, Kwik Stix, scissors, glue, and colored paper
- Use Kwik Stix to paint a fun background on white paper
- Explore different lines and patterns
- Cut strips of paper in different colors
- Fold each piece to create a crinkle effect
- Glue each piece of colored paper onto the white paper
- Hang up in the hallway during the first few weeks of school to add a pop of color!

Wallpaper Art
Materials Needed: large brown paper, tape, and Kwik Stix
- Tape a large brown piece of paper onto the wall
- Hand out Kwik Stix for each student to paint with
- Allow students to get creative and draw whatever they'd like
- Have them fill up the paper completely and sign their names under their drawing
- Hang up onto the bulletin board for display

Rainbows
Materials Needed: Kwik Stix and white paper
- Start by painting a line in each color of the rainbow
- Color in the lines with the corresponding color
- Add several rainbows to the paper
- Hang up for classroom decor or allow your students to take projects home the same day!

Butterflies
Materials Needed: white paper, Kwik Stix, crayons, and black marker
- Outline the butterfly you'd like to draw with a black marker
- Color inside the outline with crayons
- Use different colors for a colorful bulletin board display
- Paint the background with Kwik Stix

Self Portraits
Materials Needed: Kwik Stix, large paper, black marker, and global skin tones Kwik Stix
- Create a self portrait using global skin tone Kwik Stix
- Use a variety of colors to shade
- Outline any detail you'd like with black marker
- Decorate and paint the background with Kwik Stix
- Write your name on the bottom to label your artwork!

Vibrant Flowers
Materials Needed: Kwik Stix and square white paper
- Help add some vibrant colors to your classroom
- Start in the middle of the page and expand from there
- Use a variety of colors to paint a pattern
- Hang up in the classroom or the hallway to display your creativity

Fall Forest
Materials Needed: black construction paper, white paper, Kwik Stix, scissors, and glue
- Create bundles of circles in the same color using Kwik Stix
- Use a different color to outline each circle in the bundle
- Trace your hand and arm onto a piece of black paper
- Cut this shape out
- Glue onto your bundle of painted circles with the hand halfway onto the colors
- Follow the outline of both the traced hand and circle bundle and cut out
- Paint the tip of your finger to add finger printed leaves on your tree
- Hang up outside the classroom for a bright, fall theme!

Group Art Signs
Materials Needed: large white paper, thick black marker, and Kwik Stix
- Have your teacher write one bubble letter onto each piece of large white paper
- These letters will form a word and can be used for a class banner, sign, etc.
- Paint inside each letter with a variety of Kwik Stix
- Encourage students to share and work as a group to fill each letter with color
- Tape each paper together to form the word and display!

Back to School Pencils
Materials Needed: black construction paper, pencil cutout worksheets, scissors, glue, Wonder Stix and Kwik Stix
- Start by painting your pencil cutout worksheet
- Add a face if you'd like to give your pencil some character
- Cut out the pencil and glue onto a piece of black construction paper
- Decorate the background with Wonder Stix

Popsicle Stick Art
Materials Needed: popsicle sticks, Kwik Stix, and glue
- Hand out popsicle sticks to each student
- Ask them to paint each popsicle stick with Kwik Stix
- Encourage students to paint patterns and to use a variety of colors
- Have students come together to create the popsicle stick shape
- They will all discuss where each popsicle stick should go and glue it on
- Display their sculpture in the classroom!

Decorated Brown Bags
Materials Needed: brown paper bags and Kwik Stix
- Hand out a brown paper bag to each student
- Have them decorate a bag for themselves or for someone else
- You can store each bag in the classroom for collecting students supplies, tickets, rewards, etc.
- Paint each bag with Kwik Stix

Textured Paper
Materials Needed: white paper, black construction paper, colored paper strips, scissors, Kwik Stix, glue, and an optional paper crimper
- Start by drawing a background of dots on white paper using Neon Kwik Stix
- Cut out the porcupine shape from the black construction paper
- Glue onto the white paper
- Cut strips of colored paper
- Add texture to the strips of colored paper; you can do this by using a paper crimper or by folding each piece like an accordion
- Glue on each piece to the center of the porcupine's body
- Add an eye to the porcupine and display!

Classroom Pumpkins
Materials Needed: construction paper, Kwik Stix, scissors, and crayons
- Draw a pumpkin on a piece of construction paper using a pencil or crayon
- Cut along the outline
- Add dots and patterns using Kwik Stix
- Hang in the classroom for a festive fall theme!

Kindergarten Collages
Materials Needed: white paper, Kwik Stix, construction paper, glue, and scissors
- Cut out rectangles with different colored construction paper
- Cut the corners off of one side of each rectangle to form a point
- Glue each one onto the white paper
- Practice drawing lines and using different colors with Kwik Stix

About Me
Materials Needed: paper plates, global skin tone Kwik Stix, and Magic Stix
- Hand out paper plates to each student
- Have them use Kwik Stix global skin tone colors to paint self portraits
- Make sure each student writes their name on the bottom on the plate
- Optional: Hand out printable all about me worksheets and have students fill them out with Magic Stix
- Encourage students to share their work and introduce themselves
