Celebrate National Ice Cream Day- July 17th

July 17th is National Ice Cream Day! Celebrate this sweet day by creating fun crafts and of course, eating ice cream! Here are some crafts to give you inspo!

 

Ice Cream Challenge

Materials Needed: magnetic blocks or wooden blocks, and Kwik Stix Paint

  1. Create your own ice cream puzzle with these magnetic blocks (wooden blocks work too!)
  2. Paint your favorite flavor ice cream scoops
  3. Add your favorite toppings to your ice cream cone!

Colorful Cones

Materials Needed: paper, Kwik Stix Paint

  1. Paint ice cream in as many different colors as possible!
  2. Be creative and have fun!

Ice Cream Sundaes

Materials Needed: Wonder Stix

  1. Use Wonder Stix to draw your ice cream
  2. Don't have a chalk board? No worries, Wonder Stix write on almost everything: white boards, poster boards, paper, glass and windows, and cardboard

Rainbow Ice Pops

Materials Needed: Kwik Stix, popsicle sticks, glue, and paper

  1. Cut out your paper in the shape of an ice pop
  2. Paint with Kwik Stix
  3. Wait just 90 seconds for the paint to dry!
  4. Glue onto popsicle stick and hold up to take a picture for National Ice Cream Day!

Ice Cream Scoops

Materials Needed: Paper, Kwik Stix Paint, glue and scissors

  1. Cut out circles to create your scoops
  2. Cut out a triangle to form your cone
  3. Paint each one with Kwik Stix
  4. Glue onto the paper and create your ice cream cone
  5. Decorate with imaginary sprinkles and toppings!

Ice Cream Collage

Materials Needed: paper, and Kwik Stix Paint

  1. Get creative and draw your own ice cream cone with as many colors as you'd like
  2. Put together with each students work
  3. Display on a bulletin board!

Snow Cones

Materials Needed: paper towels, paper, Magic Stix, water, rolling pin, and Pyrex dish

  1. Cut strips of paper towels
  2. Color the ends with Magic Stix
  3. Hang the strips over a rolling pin and pour water onto the paper towels
  4. The Magic Stix ink will spread up the paper towel
  5. Cut the paper towel to look like a top of a snow cone
  6. Glue the top of the snow cone to a triangular piece of paper or cardboard

3 Scoop Fun

 Materials Needed: paper, pom poms, Kwik Stix Paint, and glue

  1. Cut out three circles for your scoops of ice cream
  2. Decorate to your liking and don't forget to add sprinkles!
  3. Glue onto a big piece of paper and glue a red pom pom on top to resemble a cherry
  4. Display your ice cream!
