Materials Needed: paper plates, Kwik Stix, and scissors

  1. Paint shapes in different colors onto paper plates
  2. Cut each paper plate in half
  3. Scramble and mix the paper plate pieces
  4. Match up each paper plate with the correct half to complete the puzzle!

Apple Tree Color Sorting

Materials Needed: cardboard box, Kwik Stix, scissor, and colored pompoms

  1. Use Kwik Stix to paint a tree onto a cardboard box
  2. Puncture a hole into the box where each apple is drawn
  3. Choose the corresponding pompoms and insert into each hole
  4. Continue sorting until all the pompoms are gone!

Stem Play Volcano

Materials Needed: cardboard, scissors, Kwik Stix, Skittles, plate, toy dinosaurs, and water

  1. Cut a triangle shape out of a piece of cardboard
  2. Paint the cardboard with Kwik Stix to look like a volcano
  3. Place red, orange, and yellow Skittles above the cardboard 
  4. Pour water into the skittles to mix colors and create a lava affect

  3. Label bandages with letters using a black marker
  4. Label each body part with a letter using a red marker
  5. Match and stick the bandage to the corresponding labeled body part

Materials Needed: Reusable Activity Playmat, Wonder Stix, and a damp cloth

  1. Trace the shapes and numbers with Wonder Stix
  2. Continue until both sides are filled out
  3. Wipe off with a damp cloth and practice again!

Measurement Activity

Materials Needed: baking sheet, Wonder Stix, counting cubes, ruler (optional)

  1. Draw rectangles onto a baking sheet using Wonder Stix
  2. Place counting cubes into each rectangle
  3. Continue until each rectangle is filled
  4. For added practice: Use a ruler to measure each set of cubes
  5. Write the measurement next to the rectangle
  6. Simply wipe with a damp cloth and repeat!

Ladybug Dot Counting

Materials Needed: cardboard, Kwik Stix, construction paper, and scissors

  1. Paint large ladybugs onto a piece of cardboard
  2. Cut a handful of small circles out of a piece of construction paper and place to the side
  3. Write a number next to each ladybug
  4. Place the correct number of spots onto each ladybug

Cotton Swab and Cardboard Activity

Materials Needed: cardboard box, Magic Stix, cotton swabs, cupcake pan, food coloring, and a scissor

  1. Pour a few drops of food coloring into each cupcake baking pan
  2. Place a handful of cotton swabs into each color until they turn color and flip to the opposite side
  3. Cut cotton swabs in half
  4. Draw shapes or letter onto a cardboard box using Magic Stix
  5. Use a different color for each letter or shape
  6. Puncture holes into the box along the shape
  7. Place the correct color cotton swab into the holes
