April is known to bring May flowers but the month of April also brings colorful RAINBOWS! Rainbows are a magical illusion caused by the reflection of light in water. Rainbows appear in the sky on the opposite side of the sun in a mirrored colorful arc! 
 
 
Find a Rainbow in the sky or create your own! Add a splash of color to your art projects on this special day! Rainbows are known to bring luck and spread a happy mood! 🌈🌈🌈

Cardboard Rainbow

Materials Needed: cardboard, scissors, and Kwik Stix

  1. Cut each piece of cardboard into a half circle
  2. Paint a rainbow with Kwik Stix
  3. Give to members of your family for Find a Rainbow Day or display for décor!

Vibrant Rainbow

Materials Needed: paper and Kwik Stix

  1. Sort Kwik Stix in the order of the Rainbow
  2. Start drawing a rainbow in the same order
  3. Hang artwork on your fridge on Find a Rainbow Day!

Metalix Rainbow

Materials Needed: paper and Metalix Kwik Stix

  1. Print out a Rainbow Outline or draw your own
  2. Paint a rainbow with Metalix Kwik Stix for a shiny and glittery finish

Rainbow Water Magic

Materials Needed: paper towels, dish or tray that can hold water, black Sharpie, and Magic Stix

  1. Fold a piece of paper towel in half
  2. Draw the rainbow outline on the outer page with a black Sharpie
  3. On the opposite, inner page color with rainbow colors
  4. Fill water into a dish
  5. Fold the paper with the outline on the outside
  6. Submerge the folded paper into the water
  7. Watch all colors blend together to create magic!

Rainbow Sorting

Materials Needed:  two pieces of cardboard, scissors, popsicle sticks, rainbow pom poms, and Kwik Stix

  1. On one piece of cardboard, cut out circles of different sizes
  2. On the second piece of cardboard, cut slits 
  3. Paint a rainbow using Kwik Stix on each piece as displayed in the picture
  4. Paint your popsicle sticks in different colors of the rainbow
  5. Start sorting and matching each color object with the correct color on the cardboard
  6. Practice your colors of the rainbow and have a blast!

Small Rainbows

Materials Needed: scissors, glue, construction paper, white paper, and Kwik Stix

  1. Cut your construction paper in the shape of a U
  2. Cut your white paper in the same shape but a little smaller 
  3. Flip both pieces of paper upside down to look like an arch
  4. Paint a colorful and magical pattern with Kwik Stix 
  5. Glue the white paper onto the colored construction paper
  6. Display on your classroom bulletin board or at home!

Rainbow Plates

Materials Needed: paper plates, Kwik Stix, and scissors

  1. Paint each paper plate starting from the outside
  2. Change each color as you get closer to the middle
  3. Continue this process until you cover all the white space
  4. Cut in half to form your rainbow

Window Painting

Materials Needed: Kwik Stix Paint, window or glass surface, soap, water, and a cloth

  1. Paint a rainbow onto your window where you receive the most sunlight
  2. Wet your cloth with a little water and soap to wipe clean
  3. Repeat!
